De Herbanguibus[editar]
Deinde ad litus occidentale Indiae pervenimus, sub faucibus Indi amnis, et sinu tranquillo ex navi egressi, per rus interius processimus fecundum, omni cultu tamen vacatum propter herbas quasdam illic abunde crescentes.
quae flores albos ferunt innumerabilibus minutis serpentibus venenatis refertos. eaedem herbae multis hominibus equisque in Alexandri Magni expeditiones missis mortis causa fuerunt.
Snake Plants[editar]
We arrived at the western coast of India, south of the mouth of the Indus, and disembarked in a quiet bay. We made our way inland through fertile countryside which is nevertheless made uninhabitable by certain plants which grow there in abundance.
These bear white flowers which continually generate many thousands of small venomous snakes. The same plants caused the deths of many men and horses during the expeditions of Alexander the Great[b 1].
Plantas serpiente[editar]
